Nothing could've prepared me for this season of life. On one hand it's been great to watch my child spread his wings, but now what? And watching my parents age has spurred what I call anticipatory grief. I have a lot of emotions to manage on top of all of the things pulling on my time and energy. But I'm thankful that more folks are talking about it so I don't feel so alone.
This season in life is wild. I stay worried about either my mama who lives alone or my senior who just up and decided to be an overachiever and fly the best sooner than expected. The mental load is a LOT
Watching the children spread their wings is so loaded. You're happy, but the worry intensifies. Watching your parents age is so emotional, all of the things in this stage of life feels so out of reach, at least for me. One day at a time.
